Join us Friday, May 26 at 10 a.m. for our Friday Financial Forum. We will meet at the Friday Forum Room at Arvest's East Side Branch, located at 4225 S.E. Adams Rd. in Bartlesville, Okla.*

This week our featured speakers are Martin Garber, Bartlesville Promise and Joe Todd, veteran, historian and writer.

In 2015, Martin Garber, along with other local education supporters, teamed up with Bartlesville school officials and designed a pilot program to help struggling students live up to their potential and have a successful future. The dozen or so civic leaders behind Bartlesville Education Promise have made much progress, providing weekly tutoring and summer enrichment activities that will span over the next three years at an estimated annual cost of about $50,000. Garber will be bringing an update on the organization’s progress to date and plans for the future.

Joe Todd is well known across the state for his extensive interviews of veterans who have served their country with honor, publicizing their narratives for future generations. Todd, a veteran of the Vietnam War, Gulf War and intervention in Haiti, enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19. His grandfather served in World War I and his father served in World War II. He will bring a special presentation for the upcoming May 29 Memorial Day observance.
